Pastoral Care (Key Stage 1)

Pastoral Care

We take our responsibility for the girls’ pastoral care very seriously and firmly believe that this is a key strength of the school. We know from experience that when children are happy and confident they learn most effectively and this knowledge forms a key focus throughout an education at St Mary’s. Our small class sizes mean that the teachers and classroom assistants know each girl as an individual and can relate to her specific personality and requirements.

  • Each class has a teacher who has overall responsibility for your daughter’s academic and social development and care and who is the first port of call for parents.
  • The girls also have a classroom assistant whom they get to know very well.
  • They discover the delights of teamwork, working together to solve problems, having adventures together and joining in all the opportunities we offer them.
  • Girls can now attend Breakfast Club from 7.45 and take part in our Busy Bees Club until 5.30, enjoying a range of fun activities and maybe even getting their homework done before they leave school!
