GCSEs, More Fantastic Results for our Students

There was much excitement and lots of smiling faces on GCSE results day. Amidst the confusion over the new grade system the results that we achieved were very impressive.

More than 50% of all of the results were graded at the A*/A and 9, 8 and 7 levels and over 80% A*-B and grades 9-6. 45% of our students achieved at least five A*/A grades and nearly 60% of the girls achieved A*-B and 9-6 in seven or more subjects.

Seven subjects, Biology, Chemistry, Business and Economics, Geography, Music, Spanish and Further Maths all achieved A*-B for all entries. Maths and English, which are both under the new banding system, saw several girls achieving grade 9s, meaning that nationally these girls are in the top 3.5% and 3.3% of results respectively.

Congratulations to the girls who achieved straight A* and A grades in their subjects, and also to those who worked hard to achieve results above their expectations.

Mrs Ross, the Headmistress commented, “I am so delighted with the results that the girls have achieved.  Their hard work and commitment have been well rewarded in what has been an uncertain and difficult environment.  Congratulations also to our dedicated team of teachers who work tirelessly to help our students achieve these impressive results.”

Fantastic A level Results!

We are delighted that once again our Year 13 students have achieved an impressive set of A level results.

41% of all grades achieved were A*/ A (considerably higher than the national average), 69% A*/B and 88% A*/C. These results were particularly pleasing as they were accomplished within a climate of uncertainty where the format and specifications of the exams had been changed.

Five subjects recorded 100% A*/A grades, namely Biology, Business Studies, Art and Design, Spanish and French.

The Extended Project Qualification entries were once again all graded at A* or A.

The girls now move on to a range of universities, including Imperial, Newcastle, Brighton, Loughborough, Southampton, Nottingham, Bristol, Exeter and St Andrews to study a wide range of subjects such as Architecture, Politics and Economics, English, History, Geography, Spanish, Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Electrical Engineering.

Nearly half of our students achieved A*-B in all of their subjects and a special mention goes to those girls with straight A*/A grades. These results are a tribute to the hard work of the girls and the strength of our teaching staff who work tirelessly with each individual to ensure they achieve their optimum results.
