St Mary's has consistently achieved excellent academic results in both GCSEs and A levels.
2011 GCSEs
In 2011, our students achieved their best ever grades for GCSEs with an average of 9.5 each.
Overall GCSE results
- 24% A* grade
- 60 % A* or A grade
- 88 % A*, A or B grades
There were some outstanding results by subject:
- 100% A* grades in Biology and Chemistry
- 83% A* grades in Physics with the rest being A grades
- 100% A* grades in Spanish
- 93% A* or A grades in Geography
- 90% A* or A grades in History
- 87% A* or A grades in English Literature
- 80% A* or A grades in English
2011 A levels
The A level students achieved a 94% pass rate overall. The girls are going on to a range of degree courses, including English, Geography, Medicine, Wildlife Conservation, Music and Drama at universities including Southampton, York, Royal Holloway and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

- 29 % A* or A grades
- 47 % A*, A or B grades
2010 results
The 2010 GCSE and A level results were also excellent. The A level students achieved a 95% pass rate, with 18% A grades and 52% grades A and B. 100% of the GCSE results were A* - C; 57% of the grades were A* and A, and 80% were A*, A and B.
