Nick Hallchurch (pictured 2)

Nick graduated from Hull University in 1979 and qualified as a solicitor in 1983. He worked for Pinsent Curtis and a well-known firm in Berkeley Street, London W1. Nick joined B P Collins in 1987 and became a partner in 1991. Nick has 27 years litigation experience and handles heavyweight commercial litigation, principally commercial property, contract and civil, construction and professional negligence claims, in the Courts and by arbitration, adjudication and mediation. He is also involved with construction, trade finance agreements, fraud, insolvency and health and safety matters. Nick has been identified as a "leading litigator" for the many years in Chambers UK, A Client's Guide to the Legal Profession, currently in no less than three categories, as a commercial litigator, as a property litigator, and as a mediator.

Nick is a CEDR-accredited mediator and a mediation advocate. He is also co-founder and Chairman of the Middlesex and Thames Valley Mediators, an association which provides mediation services for the Courts and privately throughout London and the Thames Valley.

A keen tennis player, and gardening enthusiast, Nick is married with 2 children and lives in Coleshill.

Carin Eilerts de Haan (pictured 3)

After graduating as a Chemical Engineer in The Netherlands, Carin started her working life as a lecturer in Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria. In 1977 her family moved to the UK and her long and happy relationship with St Mary’s started in 1980, when she was appointed as part-time Chemistry and Mathematics teacher. Carin went on to be Head of Science and later Deputy Head for 17 years. Her daughter spent her whole school life at St Mary’s as well, before going on to Birmingham University, graduating in Material Science & Metallurgy.
After her retirement in 2005, Carin renewed her contacts with St. Mary’s School as a Governor in January 2007

David Campkin (pictured 4)

David is a Parent Governor, with a daughter in Senior House. A Chartered Accountant, David is Head of Tax at the BBC where he is responsible for the global tax affairs of the Group. Originally from Birmingham, David has lived in London since 1990 and also worked in professional practice for both KPMG and PWC. He is a regular speaker at specialist tax seminars in the UK and overseas.
David lives in the village, is married and has two children. Danielle is at St Marys, and Ryan at RGS. His wife, Laraine, is a Parish Councillor and works part-time in the City. When time and children permit, David enjoys golf, squash and travel. He has previously acted as PTA Treasurer for a Prep School in Essex.

Pippa was educated in this country but also for a few years in the USA when her father was attached to the British Embassy in Washington DC. She is married with two grown-up daughters, one a chartered civil engineer, the other an actor. Pippa has spent most of her working life as a secondary school teacher, working in the independent sector, and was Head of Art for many years. Although now retired, occasionally she helps out at her last school when the need arises. Pippa’s interests are wide ranging but with a particular emphasis on the arts.

Helen qualified as an accountant many years ago and decided to seek excitement in Canada. She worked for a large American company and for a year travelled extensively, developing a love of most things Canadian. She then worked in the car industry and discovered a love of fast cars!

Helen returned to the UK to work for another multi-national company, Unilever, and after leaving Unilever in order to have three daughters, she founded a small accountancy practice. The firm grew and now there are two companies, Russell Phillips Ltd which is a general accountancy firm and Phillips & Co which specialises in Insolvency. Helen is a qualified Mediator, Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and Registered Auditor. She now runs a couple of different companies which provide a new outlook on life and keeps a lively interest in commerce.

Nicholas Moss (pictured 8)

Nick has lived and worked in and around Gerrards Cross for most of his life and has been involved with St Mary's School as a governor since 2005. He has two daughters who have attended the school since joining the Nursery and he sits on the Finance & General Purposes Committee. He is also the governor who oversees the school's health and safety policies. Nicholas is a Director of his own business which he founded in 1994. He is also a Parish Councillor, a Rotarian and is involved with various other local organisations

Derek Wilson (pictured 9)

Derek Wilson has been a Governor of St. Mary’s School since 1995 and Chairman of Governors since 2007. He trained as a Chartered Accountant with Deloittes in London and Geneva and held various appointments in industry including Wilkinson Match and Cadbury Schweppes and finally at Slough Estates where he was at first Finance Director then Chief Executive. He retired in 2002 and has been a Governor of the National Society for Epilepsy at Chalfont St Peter since 2003

John Loarridge

John is a History graduate and trained as a teacher at Nottingham University. Previously Head of Dr Challoner’s Grammar School for boys 1972 – 92, he was awarded the OBE for services to education and the Reserve Decoration for years of service in the Royal Naval Reserve. John is Chairman of Governors of two independent schools and Deputy Chairman of a third. He is also a member of the Diocesan Board of Education, Chairman of the Premises Committee and a member of the Standing Committee. The Diocese has 280 state schools.
John chairs two Music Societies (Amersham and Wendover) and leads a team of judges in Buckinghamshire’s Best Kept Village competition. He chairs a committee which gives grants to undergraduates at Nottingham University. John also plays golf and tennis and goes to the gym.

Sam Machin

Sam is Professor of Haematology at University College London and also Consultant Haematologist at University College London Hospitals (University College Hospital, The Middlesex Hospital, National Hospital for Nervous Diseases). He is also an Honorary Consultant at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
Sam’s primary research interests are in haemostasis and thrombosis and he is Head of the Haemostasis Research Unit in the Department of Haematology, University College London with approximately 20 people in the research department. He has directly supervised, over the past 15 years, 25 PhD and MD theses and published more than 200 prime review papers.

Christine Bayliss

Christine trained and taught as a Primary School teacher in the UK before moving to Germany with her husband and two small daughters. She worked for the Frankfurt International School there for 25 years, initially teaching Year 4 but then as Head of a new satellite campus in Wiesbaden, overseeing its growth to an enrolment of 300 students. As A member of the Senior Management team, Christine's responsibilities included strategic planning, curriculum development and assessment, appointment and appraisal of faculty as well as community and public relations and management of buildings and grounds. She has carried out many evaluations of other schools across the world for the Council of International Schools (CIS). On her return to the UK, whilst no longer working full time, Christine is still involved in school evaluation for CIS.
