Sporting Success for St Mary’s Prep Footballers and Senior Netballers

Three wins in one night!

St Mary’s Prep had a very successful first ever football match on Wednesday 12 November. Playing at home against St Joseph’s, girls from years 3 to 6 were thrilled to have the opportunity to play competitively and equally thrilled to win the match 4-2. Our Senior girls also did us proud on the same night, winning their netball matches against Holmer Green School. Year 9 girls won 16-1 and year 8 girls won 9-0. Well done girls, fantastic results all round.

Fantastic afternoon of various Sports for all of Prep

On Wednesday 11 June we were joined by the PE teachers and boys from Year 12 from Dr Challoner’s Grammar School to run sporting events for all the girls from Reception to Year 6, as part of their Community Sports Liaison Award. It was a wonderful, sunny afternoon and the girls learned lots of different skills required for various athletics events, an excellent warm up for our Sports Day on Saturday!

Our Girls got a Bronze!

On Sunday 19 January our Under 11s and Under 14s gymnasts competed for the first time in the regional round of the National Schools BSGA Floor and Vault competition, held at Beaconsfield High School.

The British Schools Gymnastics Association (BSGA) was established in 1982. It is an affiliate body of British Gymnastics (BG) and the National Council for School Sport (NCSS) which provides the pathway for participation in the world school games.

The girls performed fantastically well with our Under 11 team coming third and winning a bronze medal! Our Under 14s team also did brilliantly and narrowly missed being placed.

Teams consisted of:

Under 11
Freya, Natasha, Abbie, Anna and Isabella

Under 14
Emily, Isabella, Ruby, Ellen and Ella
