National Success in Persuasive Writing

National Success in Persuasive Writing – Letters to the Prime Minister

Over the half term break many of our girls in Years 4, 5 and 6 were busy writing letters to the Prime Minister. As part of the Go-Givers initiative they wrote letters about a topic of their choice, providing their opinion on what needs to be done on issues relating to the world around them. We were pleased that so many of our girls chose to get involved in the initiative and delighted that three of our girls, Holly in Year 4, and Lily and Yasha in Year 5 will have their letters included in a book that is being presented to the Prime Minister and her ministers. The Programme Director commented “This is a truly wonderful result, considering the number of letters we received. When we judged the children’s work, some schools really stood out. Yours was one of these. Your children appear very knowledgeable, concerned, empathetic and literate”.

Girls go into the community to spread festive cheer

Girls go into the community to spread festive cheer

As always our girls have been keen to spread joy around the community with our Senior House Choir visiting Leonard Cheshire care home, and our Year 6 girls visiting Swarthmore House, to sing carols and Christmas songs to the residents there. We hope the residents enjoyed it as much as the girls did.
